Frequently Asked Questions

Things to do with my Twylah page

I love my Twylah page, but what do I do with it?

Share it like you would any other website you own giving your audience a more reader-friendly experience with your tweets. Specifically:

  • Share your page on Twitter, Facebook and Google Plus.
  • Add widgets to your website - Display the topics you tweet about directly on your website. More Widget info »
  • Send Power Tweets - The most significant engagement with your Twylah page happens when you Power Tweet. More Power Tweet info »

What are “Power Tweets”?

A tweet sent through Twylah (instead of through Twitter or another client) is what we affectionately refer to as a Power Tweet.

A Power Tweet is the only way to give your followers more of what they are looking for, when they are looking for it, on Twitter.

How? By creating a custom landing page on Twylah for each Power Tweet you send, complete with the text of your tweet, any linked content, and other related tweets of yours. (Power Tweets include an automatic back-link to this landing page.)

By giving your followers related tweets, you are giving your followers more of what they are looking for at the precise moment they are looking for it. It’s demand media and marketing at its best.

As a result, Power Tweets increase engagement (as defined by time spent on your Twitter content) by 40X.

Can I schedule my Power Tweets?

Yes, you can schedule your Power Tweets using Buffer.

You will need to set up an account with Buffer first, to enable this feature on Twylah. Once you've set up your account, click on "Send Power Tweet" or your Power Tweet Bookmarklet, then click on the "Enable Buffer" button.

How do I get the most value out of a Power Tweet?

For greatest impact, use Power Tweets on topics you tweet about most and/or wish to be known for, and make sure to include a link either to an article, blog post, image, video or any other rich media.

Power Tweets work great with YouTube, Vimeo, Storify, SlideShare, GoPollGo, Flickr, SoundCloud, and SmugMug.

Page Customization

Can I customize the design of my Twylah page?

If you would like to customize the design of your page, we offer a simple custom design service, free if you set up to host your Twylah page on your own domain/website.
See “How do I host my Twylah page on my own domain/website”.

Once you have this set up, email us at design-at-twylah-dot-com and we will send you design instructions. Make sure to include your Twitter username and the custom domain url you set up for your Twylah page.

How can I embed an image or slideshare on my Twylah?

Your Twylah page is created automatically for you. For example, if you post a slideshare presentation on Twitter or any other Twitter client, that slideshare will show up the next time your page refreshes, as long as the tweet text contains one of your top 20 topic keywords.

If you want your slideshare to show up in one of your top 20 topics, just use those topical keywords in your tweet.

Alternatively, you can Power Tweet your slideshare, and as long as it is in one of your top topics (specifically, as long as you are using a keyword of one of your top topics), it will show up instantaneously.

If you tweet a slideshare, for example, on a topic that is not yet in your top 20 topics, that slideshare presentation is still captured within Twylah, but it will only show up on your page once that topic bubbles up to the top 20.

How do I remove an image that I don’t want?

Sign in at the top right of your Twylah page, then locate the tweet that contains the image and click “Remove Tweet”.

Topic Customization

Can I “pin” a topic?

Yes, you can “pin” up to 3 topics. Just sign in at the top right of your Twylah page, then click on the “Manage Topics” link at the top of your page.

Can I remove a topic?

Yes, you can “hide” up to 10 topics. Just sign in at the top right of your Twylah page then click on the “Manage Topics” link at the top of your page.

Can I add topics?

You can only get topics to show up on your Twylah pages by tweeting more (and more frequently) on that topic. If you tweet about it enough, and with enough consistency, it will trend.

Can I combine topics when they are similar?

Not yet, but we hope to add this feature soon.
